Penny and Martin's South America Adventure

Penny and Martin spent around a month wending their way by plane, train and automobile through Chile and Argentina. Starting in Santiago they drove from Temuco through to Argentina, down to Bariloche and back through to Chiloe and the Chilean lakes. From there they went up to the desertscapes of Atacama and back to the coastal city at Valparaiso. It was quite a trip!

Inez and Lucas' Chile Adventure

Inez and Lucas spent their fourth trip with us exploring Chile and Easter Island. They started in Chile's winelands, moving on to Patagonia, heading out to Easter Island, back to the Atacama Desert and back via the astronomy centre at Antofagasta. Whew! It was quite a trip and they have very kindly allowed us to feature just a handful of their fantastic photos on the site.

John and Sherry's South American Odyssey

John and Sherry booked more than a month long trip with us starting in Peru and finishing in the eclectic Buenos Aires. It was quite a trip by the sounds of things and it all went pretty smoothly. Please read on to hear their feedback.

Nicolas and Teressa's Honeymoon

Nicolas and Teressa booked a superb trip with us to visit the extremes of Chile and then up to the infamous citadel of Machu Picchu. By all accounts, while they were a little dissappointed by the visitor numbers in Peru, they had a great trip! Please read their review below.

Julie & Tom's Chile trip

We assisted Julie and Tom with their dream trip around Chile - visiting Santiago, Patagonia, the Atacama desert and the wine region. By all accounts, they had an incredible time! Please see their feedback below.

Cyril and Brent's trip to Argentina

Cyril and Brent asked us to put together an itinerary for them to visit the northern desertlands of Chile and then head into the weaving districts to the northwest of Argentina. With such an interesting itinerary, we used a couple of local guides who really know their stuff as far as weaving and textiles are concerned. Please read their feedback from the trip.

Hotel Palacio Astoreca

This stunning 1923-built property was formerly the Valparaiso Arts College, but opened as a hotel in 2012 following two years of restoration. Palacio Astoreca is a just a stone’s throw from the El Peral Funicular and offers spectacular views of Valparaiso Bay. The Parisian owner’s French influence is evident, from the design to the imported furniture.

Culture in Chile

With such a diverse geography stretching from the remote Tierra del Fuego in the very south of the country to the deserts and altiplano lagoons in the very north of the country, it’s natural that Chile should have an extremely diverse culture and history too. While Santiago has, for a long time, lagged behind Buenos Aires and Rio as a cultural destination the growing number of restaurants, theatres and museums is attracting more and more people to the capital and the country is starting to make more of its cultural traditions.

Scott and Lisa's holiday to Chile

Scott and Lisa had a fantastic week's holiday in Chile in February 2017. The highlights included the Lake District and a few days at the coast to the west of Santiago.

John, Chris and Katy's Holiday to Chile in search of Penguins and Pumas

John first got in touch with us in March 2015 asking for help with putting together a trip to Chile over Easter 2016, to go in search of Pumas and Humboldt Penguins. Their itinerary took them to the very south of Chile; the Torres del Paine National Park, Chiloé Island and Valparaíso where they took a pelagic birding trip to the Humboldt Current.
