Food and Wine: The Lake District
Stunning vistas and outstanding dining is the order of the day.
While Bariloche and the Lake District may not be a big producer of wine or food (apart from the world famous chocolate that comes from here), it should definitely be thought of as a food and wine destination in Argentina. Featuring some of the most stunning natural landscapes and most luxurious hotels in Argentina, the culinary experience that is on offer is sure to satiate the appetite of any connoisseur.
The rolling hills and water filled valleys that make up the stunning Lake District are a real delight at any time of the year. Famed for the activities that are on offer, from top quality skiing in the winter, to walking, kayaking and all sorts in the summer, the Lake District is a firm favourite with tourists, both from Argentina and foreign.
Along with this plethora of activity and outdoor pursuits, the region features some of the best hotels to be found in the entire continent with Villa la Angostura, traditionally being the place to be and be seen. We have put together a few of our favourite hotels to enjoy what the region has to offer while also benefiting from the local fare. One thing that this area is particularly famous for is the trout fly fishing…if you are offered trout at any time you can guarantee that it has been caught that day from somewhere nearby!
