A large and modern hotel just outside of Puno, the Hotel José António is a great choice for those spending a night or two at Lake Titicaca and not wanting to break the bank. Popular with groups, the hotel offers simple accommodation and a good range of facilities. While it won’t blow you away, it is perfectly adequate for an overnight stop.

Around a 15 -minute drive from the centre of Puno, the Hotel José António is located at the edge of Lake Titicaca at the opposite end of town from the other hotels in the area. The hotel has its own port, where trips to Uros and Taquile can depart from and a modern bridge connecting the hotel with the side of the Lake.

The hotel has 131 spacious rooms and suites, the majority of which have views of the lake. Six of the rooms face the mountain at the back of the hotel. Fairly simple and functional in style, the rooms come with noise proof windows, heating, TV and minibar.

Facilities at the hotel include a restaurant and bar; with wide glass windows looking over the lake, 24-hour concierge service, business centre and games room. Oxygen is also available to use for guests returning from the lake and struggling to adjust to the altitude. There is also the option to explore the mountain behind the hotel, which offers a great vantage point for views over Lake Titicaca.

The only point to bear in mind about this hotel is that it is popular with tour groups so if you'd prefer somewhere with a more intimate feel then it may be worth having a look at one of the properties on the other side of town.

Comfortable rooms at a reasonable price.

This hotel feels more like an overnight stop than anything else.
