The Miramar by Windsor

Just steps away from Copacabana beach, this hotel has superb views of the bay and Sugarloaf Mountain. While the city’s best restaurants are in Ipanema, these are only a short taxi ride away.

The hotel has 200 rooms ranging from Standard City View rooms to Ocean View Suites. All rooms are spacious and elegantly decorated with neutral colours, soft furnishings and authentic Brazilian artwork. Touches of the oriental are placed throughout the hotel, using ornate vases and colourful orchids. All windows are double-glazed and the floors are sound proofed using a special material made of recycled CDs. If possible, we’d recommend choosing an Ocean View room to make the most of the views over Copacabana beach.

Guest accommodation is set over 16 floors in a tall tower block overlooking Copacabana Beach. At the very top of the building is a rooftop infinity pool and bar area and fitness centre with panoramic views. The hotel’s restaurant and lobby are located on the ground floor.

The Hotel Miramar is able to cater to every whim with pet friendly rooms and a private Butler Service for those who want it. With modern touches including Ipod docks and coffee machines, solar panels and soundproof floors, this hotel has thought of every comfort. The hotel also has its own area on the beach with loungers and waiters serving fruit and drinks. Above all, we were impressed by the friendly and welcoming staff and the attentive service, making this one of our favourite hotels in Copacabana.
