The Ponta dos Ganchos resort is set on a private, forest-covered peninsula situated between two small fishing villages on Santa Catarina’s Emerald Coast. The resort is 40km north of the town of Florianópolis and a short flight from São Paulo, Rio and Buenos Aires. Close-by is the island of Arvoredo, known as the best site for scuba diving in Southern Brazil, the Baía dos Golfinhos, the home of Tucuxi Dolphins and a number of oyster farms.
The resort is made up of 25-ocean view bungalows and villas nestled into the picturesque hillside of the Peninsula. Nature trails lead around the Peninsula and a wooden decked bridge leads across the shallow water from the beach to the hotel’s private island.
All of the bungalows are built to a modern finish with clean lines, hardwood floors and floor-to-ceiling windows. All have wide wooden decks facing the sea, in order to make the most of the uninterrupted views.
Deluxe bungalows have split-level bedrooms, living rooms and verandas, while Super Deluxe bungalows are bigger and have their own outdoor Jacuzzis. For those looking for even more space and exclusivity, the villas have their own gardens, private plunge pools fitness centres and even their very own wine cellars!
As you would expect from a resort, Ponta dos Ganchos has a huge array of facilities including an indoor heated swimming pool, fitness centre, spa, tennis court, a beachside restaurant and private cinema. In addition to this, guests can choose from a range of activities including scuba diving, snorkelling, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, boat trips, whale watching, mountain biking and horse riding.
One of the main attractions of this hotel is that it caters to every whim meaning that breakfast is served all day, the menu changes daily and there are no set times for meals.
