Belmond Hotel das Cataratas

The first thing that strikes you when you walk up to the Belmond Hotel das Cataratas is that it is pink! This is part of what has made the hotel famous over the years and, with the new management and ownership, they have decided to keep it as such. In fact, the new owners have decided to pretty much keep the hotel as it originally was, with a grand and elegant entrance hall, elegant furnishings and decadent desertion throughout the hotel. This really is the grand dame of hotels!

The Belmond Hotel das Cataratas is within throwing distance of the main balconies that look out to the falls themselves and so it is a very privileged position to be able to wander out in the morning and have the entire area to yourself. As the day wears on the area becomes busier and busier.

The hotel also has a vast range of facilities including a huge outdoor swimming pool, a gym, a tennis court and great dining areas that all look out to the falls. With this being an older building, as is often the case, the rooms are not as big as some of its contemporaries, but this is more than made up for by the location.
