High on the hillside as you exit Bariloche, the Villa Huinid has been operating for quite a while and has an air of tradition and circumstance that is lacking with many of the other hotels in and around this area.
The first thing that strikes about the hotel is the impressive view out to The Nahuel Huapi Lake and beyond. Along with this, they have a great restaurant that also makes the most of the view.
The interior of the hotel is beginning to look a little jaded these days and it could certainly do with a bit of a facelift in order to bring it back up to its former glory, but the rooms are generally well appointed and half of them benefit from the views (the other half don’t and look out onto the slope of the hill as it continues to rise). On the lower level there is a swimming pool that, again, looks out to the view.
On the whole this is not a bad hotel, although could really do with some TLC. We found the staff to be polite, if slightly aloof, and the restaurant to serve good, if not exceptional, food.
