The Peninsula Valdes

The Peninsula Valdes

Probably the most well known nature area in Argentina, the Valdes Peninsula is, at first look, not somewhere that should harbor life! However, while the land may look barren and inhospitable, it is the oceans that surround this peninsula that are the reason to come here. With two bays, one to the north and the other to the south, the Valdes Peninsula provides a tranquil stopping point for, in particular, southern right whales for both nursing and mating, away from the harsh Atlantic swells.

El Calafate and El Chalten

El Calafate and El Chalten

Possibly the most famous area of Argentina, El Calafate, and the neighbouring El Chalten, sit right on the edge of the Southern Ice Field, the second largest body of ice on the planet. Recently the area has seen a huge surge in interest (due, in part, to the presidential legacy of the Kirchners) with new hotels and facilities springing up all over the place.

Bariloche and the Lake District

Bariloche and the Lake District

The many lakes and mountains that surround the small, Alpine town of Bariloche make it one of the prettiest areas in the whole of Argentina. Unlike other areas of Argentina that are starved of rains and moisture due to the imposing Andes range, the Argentine Lake District is a verdant region that is anything but, and this makes for some spectacular views and vistas. Also known as one of the best fly fishing areas in Argentina and the world, there are quite a few activities to get up to while visiting the Lake District.

Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires

One of the most vibrant and beautiful cities anywhere in the world. At around 12 million inhabitants, Buenos Aires features a rich array of cultures, foods, architecture and nightlife, and is a must see on any trip or honeymoon to Argentina. A few of our favourite things to do in Buenos Aires include exploring the famous Recoleta cemetery, going to see a Boca Juniors football match, wandering through one of the many weekend markets and generally gorging on the fabulous steak and wine, with the bustle flowing past.

Cavas Wine Lodge

Arguably the most famous lodge in Argentina, the Cavas Wine Lodge has become an institution in the Mendoza for its high standards, exceptional food and stunning location…and its price! Set in beautiful vineyards each of these quirky cabins has its own rooftop area in which to lounge and take in the sights and sounds around you.

Hotel Legado Mitico

A superb little hotel, nestling right in the heart of the infamous Palermo Viejo district, the Hotel Legado Mitico, Buenos Aires offers a quirky and intimate view of the city. Each of the large rooms has been styled with a different, famous Argentine in mind, with iconic nick nacks and photos adorning the rooms.

Park Hyatt, Palacio Duhau

Located in the wealthy Recoleta district, the Palacio Duhau - Park Hyatt is probably our pick of the larger, upmarket hotels in the capital. Originally a vast townhouse, the hotel cleverly mixes the old with the new, allowing guests to opt for either one of the more lavish original rooms, or for one of the modern, contemporary ones.

Alvear Palace Hotel

The Alvear Palace Hotel is one of the truly old world hotels in the capital, and is a Buenos Aires institution, and rightly so. With its high levels of service and marble covered foyer it is still one of the best places in the capital to spend a few nights if you are looking for this lavish feel.
