Location

Hotel de la Opera is in the heart of La Candelaria – literally next door to the Colon Theatre (and can provide tours of the Neoclassic National Theatre). The popular Gold and Botero Museums are within walking distance, as is Bolivar square. Bogota’s international airport is approximately 30 minutes away.

Layout

The ‘Republican house’ is the larger of the two, featuring a majority of the rooms plus La Scala Restaurant (offering Mediterranean cuisine) on the first floor and El Mirador Restaurant (for Colombian dishes) on the 4th Floor. The lower floor houses the swimming pool and spa. The rest of the rooms are found in the adjoining Art Deco wing.

Rooms

Hotel de la Opera has a total of 42 rooms, with 34 Standard and 8 Junior Suites. The Republican, colonial house offers 27 of the rooms and overlooks the cobbled streets of La Calle del Coliseo. The remaining 15 rooms are in the Art Deco house, with views of Bolivar Square and Monserrate Hill. All rooms have heating, Wi-Fi, minibar, Cable-TV, safety deposit box and a desk. 16 rooms have twin bedding as an option.
