Location
The property is located, as the name suggests, in Hanga Roa – the island’s main (only) town and is less than a mile from the airport. Situated off the coastal road, the hotel is ocean-facing and overlooks the rocky west coast of the island. The location is ideal for those who like to potter into town and explore the local shops & market, being just a few blocks from the action. Although ‘action’ is a relative term, on an island 1,000 miles from an inhabited neighbour!
Layout
Nayara Hangaroa is entirely a single-floor property, which works on two levels. Firstly, it is very much in keeping with the area and the ‘shape of the land’. Secondly, despite being a relatively large development, it helps maintain their eco-village feel and character, rather than a built-up resort. The use of tree trucks and curved walls and rooms is very much in keeping with the organic theme here. Although the resort has quite a large footprint, it remains a stress-free exercise to get around your own eco-village.
