Location

If you are flying in, it is less than 3km (under 10 mins by taxi) from the small airport. The pier, for guests arriving by boat from Santa Cruz, is less than 2km.

Remember that there is a $10 tax to pay on arrival by either means. The hotel is situated on Puerto Villamil beach. Behind the property is a lagoon, teeming with wildlife.

Layout

The first thing that strikes you when arriving at the Iguana Crossing Boutique Hotel is the expansive sundeck and swimming pool to the front of the property, overlooking the beach. Inside on the ground floor is reception, the lounge bar, dining rooms and some accommodation. On the first floor are the rest of the rooms. The new extension on the rooftop (finished at the end of 2019) features a sun terrace & bar, plus a Jacuzzi. There is also a basement with a children’s playroom.

Rooms

The Iguana Crossing Boutique Hotel has a total of 14 rooms: 7 x Ocean-view rooms, 4 x Volcano-view rooms, 2 x Junior Suites and 1 x Master Suite. All rooms are en-suite and have air-conditioning, cable TV, mini-bar fridge and a safety deposit box. The 450ft2 Ocean-view rooms have a small balcony. The 350ft2 Volcano-view rooms are located to the rear of the property, facing the lagoon and Sierra Negra volcano. The Junior Suites (500ft2) and Master Suite (600ft2) offer spacious balconies with wonderful views of the beach and ocean.

Features

The children’s playroom includes table-tennis and a billiards table. There is the outdoor pool at the front of the hotel and a rooftop Jacuzzi, each with plenty of space to relax in the sunshine. We like the fact they have two dining areas, enabling them to have a separate area for groups of over 10 guests. The hotel offers a laundry service and complimentary Wi-Fi in the social areas.
