A small and friendly hotel on the way out of town, the Solar de la Costa is a budget option in the area. Established for quite a few years now, we would suggest that the interiors could do with a bit of a facelift, but it is well positioned and just back from the front which allows for good views from some of the rooms.

The Solar is a small guesthouse-style hotel located on the other side of the Port that has the feel of a B&B in Eastbourne. The rooms are very simple, using varnished wood throughout. Where the larger hotels in town are high rise, this only has 4 floors and so the views out across the bay are still good….but the main reason to stay here is for the access to the least busy stretch from here to the Territorio.

While the interior could probably do with a bit of work, the ambience is really good and the staff and owner are very welcoming and speak good English. The rooms are similarly a very simple affair, but they serve their purpose adequately. Again, if I had the money there is nowhere other than the Territorio, but this is not bad if you want a bit of shabby-chic and to be out of town.
