Tierra del Fuego

Located right down in the very south of Argentina, the ski resorts and slopes of Tierra del Fuego offer some of the best skiing to be had anywhere in Argentina and the world. Located just a stone’s throw from the main town of Ushuaia, it is easy to combine a few days on the slopes with some superb food, walking and outdoor activities. Moreover, with some of the only southerly facing slopes in the world, the powder that is offered here is indescribable!

Mendoza and the Wine region

Pushed up against the Andes range, the region around Mendoza has slowly become renowned for its season snowfalls and, subsequently its skiing. Today ranked as probably the best resort in South America, Las Lenas can boast some of the best snow in the continent, along with great accommodation and runs. Penitentes, high up in the Andes, is also worth a mention for those that might be looking for just a few days.

Yacutinga Lodge

A quirky alternative to staying in Puerto Iguazu, Yacutinga Lodge is located along the river from the falls and offers the chance to stay out in the wilds, right in the heart of the forest.

Xelena Suites Hotel

Set on a steep bank of Lago Argentina, heading out of town, the Xelena Suites Hotel is a relatively new hotel and, on the face of it, promises a lot. They have gone for size and for comfort in the design, with automatic shutters on the windows and vast rooms.

Vinas de Cafayate Wine Resort

Arguably the best alternative to the Patios de Cafayate, and at a fraction of the price, the Vinas de Cafayate Wine Resort is a great little property that sits on the small hill that overlooks the town, offering outstanding views, simple accommodation and seclusion without being miles out of the town.

Villa Huinid

Located right next to the Design Suites, the Villa Huinid is an older and statelier hotel with a much bigger frontage and number of rooms. With around half of the rooms facing the back of the building, it is important to make sure that you go for one that makes use of the view. Not a bad hotel, but in need of a facelift and so would not be our first recommendation.

Tipiliuke Lodge

Still working as a cattle Estancia, Tipiliuke Lodge is a true home away from home. Nestling in a forest to the north of St Martin, this private getaway offers five star treatment in a relaxed and cosy atmosphere.

The Tolosa Hotel

Located in the centre of town, about 3 blocks back from the waterfront, the Tolosa Hotel is a fairly non descript in our opinion. The rooms are fine and it is definitely worth opting for the Superiors rather than the Standard, but they are very unexciting with the colour palette basically being white. As we say, it is fine, but there are better both in town and outside.

The Territorio Hotel

Far and away the best hotel in the Puerto Madryn area, the Territorio Hotel offers modern and comfortable accommodation while making the most of the stunning views out across the famous bay. All of the rooms in this modern hotel offer uninterrupted seaviews from the bed and the bath, and, with a great little spa and Jacuzzi, it is definitely our choice for accommodation.

The Sheraton Hotel

Located around a 3 block walk away from the Plaza Independencia, the Sheraton Hotel Mendoza is well located for a city stay as it is possible to see what Mendoza the city has to offer within walking distance. The hotel itself is the usual large hotel fare with a grand lobby and dining area off it.
