Hotel Libertador: Arequipa

The hotel occupies a pink-coloured colonial mansion next to Selva Alegre Park, to the North of the Plaza de Armas and the historical centre. While some will prefer a city centre location, others will like the green gardens surrounding the hotel, which boast a swimming pool and a 100 year-old pet tortoise named “Juanita”, after the famous Inca Mummy on show in a local museum.

The hotel’s 88 rooms and suites are spacious and decorated in a colonial style, with ornate wooden headboards, chandeliers and luxurious bed-linen. Rooms range from good-sized Superior Rooms, through to Junior Suites with living area and garden views and Suites with a separate sitting room and again, views of the garden. All come with a desk, heating and air conditioning, satellite TV and minibar.

Upon entering the hotel, guests are met by a grand lobby and reception area, with high-ceilinged corridors leading off to the hotel’s restaurant, bar and business centre and stairways leading up to the guest rooms. The hotel’s restaurant “Los Robles” is open for lunch and dinner and serves a blend of international and Arequipeñan cuisine using local produce, much of which is grown by the hotel.

The Hotel Libertador's spacious gardens contain a large outdoor pool, children’s playground, terrace and outdoor bar area for enjoying Arequipa’s sun-blessed climate. A well-equipped gym, sauna and steam room are also accessed through the gardens and add to the long list of facilities at the hotel.
