Location
Hotel las Islas is on Isla Baru, one of thirty islands that make up the Cholon archipelago, and looks across to the Rosario Islands. For those who can’t afford the helicopter transfer (the property has its own helipad), the hotel offer two speedboat transfers. One is 45-minutes from Cartagena and the other is approx. 15 mins from Punta Iguana.
Layout
The treetop and sea-front bungalow are dotted along the coast and throughout the forest, as are the hotel’s communal buildings. Everything is interconnected with raised wooden walkways and each bungalow is provided with 2 pushbikes in order to get around. We would warn against getting the sea-front bungalow No. 5 (the D’artagnan), as it is a little overlooked by one of the restaurants. Otherwise, the dispersed nature of the property provides a wonderful feeling of isolation.
Rooms
Hotel las Islas has a total of 54 en-suite bungalows, split as 22 Sea-front and 32 Treetop bungalows (which can only be accessed by stairs). Each bungalow is named after a Colombian island and all include air-conditioning & roof fan, Satellite TV, Wi-Fi, minibar, Espresso machine, hairdryer, safe and video entry phones. The Treetop bungalows have furnished decking with a hammock and Jacuzzi; and are either 8 or 12 metres up. The Sea-level bungalows also feature furnished decking with direct access to the sea, as well as a private plunge pool. For something extra special, there is the Presidential Suite complex, featuring 4 bedrooms, 2 living areas, a dining area, roof terrace with sea-view and a private pool!
Features

The hotel also has a freshwater pool, gym, solarium, spa, craft store, ATM, 24-hour room service and two meeting rooms. Activities such as snorkelling, diving, kayaking, paddle-boarding, cooking classes and tours to Cartagena, the mangroves or the Rosario Islands can also be arranged.
