Hosteria Senderos

Location

Conveniently located in front of the bus terminal. Despite being by the main road, traffic in El Chalten is very limited so noise from the outside is rarely heard.

Rooms

We like Senderos because it infuses a sense of comfort the moment you walk in…there is lenga wood furniture from top to bottom, king size beds as standard and all the superior rooms have views of the Fitzroy Massif as well as more amenities, bath robes and more square footage. Standard rooms overlook the front of the hotel but are not much different. There are also two suites located at opposite ends on the top floor, which provide the most privacy. Lastly, the hotel also offers one family room with 4 beds available.

Layout

Senderos is spread out over a 3 storey typical alpine wooden chalet which definitely feels like a home from home. The hotel is a covered in tin to shield from wind and in our opinion it stands out as one of the nicest traditional buildings in the whole town. As you enter the property, you are presented the bar and dining area to one side and the sitting/lounge area to the other side…this is it pretty much as far as communal spaces go. The medium size downstairs main sitting area comes with two large sofas, a TV and coffee table. There is also a very small open area TV room on the second floor includes a large flat screen TV which is perfect to keep kids entertained. In high season, lunch and dinner are also on offer.

Features

This hotel is a very reasonably priced simple and comfortable place to use as a base to all the outdoor activities in El Chalten but won’t appeal to anyone looking to enjoy a range of facilities…for this you want to be staying at Destino Sur or Los Cerros.
