Set in a small winery in the Chacras region of Mendoza, the Finca Adalgisa is absolutely charming and is a perfect spot from which to base explorations of the area. All of the rooms are fairly simple in design and layout, but the real charm of the property and surroundings is in the communal areas and, particularly in the small tasting room above the wine storage rooms. A really good choice.

On the right off the main road as you head out of Chacras, the Finca Adalgisa may not be as well located for exploring the village as its contemporaries, but it benefits for then being able to offer an experience in the actual vines themselves which more than makes up for it.

This quiet little Finca actually still produces its own Malbec wine and so, probably the highlight of the stay, is to be able to have a quiet tasting in the evening in their special wine room, along with some local cheese and crackers…a very nice way to start the evening off!

As with many of the other hotels in the region, the Finca Adalgisa has the feel of being a converted farm property and so the rooms themselves are simple and have limited facilities, but this only adds to the charm. With a small pool and reading rooms, and covered patios, you can merrily while away a few hours here. Certainly one of our favourite options in the area.

Very impressed, the best service we received in Argentina, even vs the Four Seasons in BA. Melissa at reception was our main contact and she was excellent. We saw a Tripadvisor review saying something along the lines of ‘Mendoza’s answer to Babington House’. We haven’t been to Babington but I get the sentiment. The picnic they organsied for us on NY’s evening was outstanding and went well beyond the call of duty. Pool, vineyard area, etc all up to a very high standard.
