Sol y Luna

Sol y Luna is set in a quiet position just outside of Urubamba in the heart of the Sacred Valley. Around an hour’s drive from Cusco, the hotel is a perfect stopping point on route to Machu Picchu and provides an excellent base for exploring the Sacred Valley and nearby archaeological sites such as Moray, Pisac and Ollantaytambo.

Guest accommodation is spread out over 43 private casitas, which are dotted around Sol y Luna’s pretty and expansive gardens. Made of adobe, wood and stone, the casitas range from the more rustic standard casitas through to deluxe and premium casitas with separate living spaces, more outdoor space and even their own jacuzzis.

Also dotted around Sol y Luna’s pretty gardens are the hotel’s spa, with sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, as well as a gym, outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, library and gift shop. The hotel has two restaurants, the first for formal dining and serving up gourmet Peruvian cuisine, and the second for casual dining, serving a mixture of Peruvian and international cuisine. The latter faces the hotel’s stables which hold twenty peruano horses and a large open area which is used for evening performances, featuring local equestrian and circus performers.

Additional activities available include cooking classes, wine tastings and visits to the Sol y Luna Association and School to see how the hotel is helping to give back to the community. Adventure options include trekking, mountain biking, rafting, kayaking and paragliding activities.
