While this hotel isn’t as convenient for visiting the restaurants and bars of the Quadrado, the Villas de Trancoso is ideal for clients looking for absolute calm and tranquility.

The hotel’s 10 one or two bedroom villas and suites are set around the luscious green gardens of the hotel; home to an array of tropical flowers, birds and even monkeys. At the centre is the hotel’s white marble pool with its sunken pool bar and restaurant serving traditional Brazilian cuisine.

The calm atmosphere of the hotel carries through to the rooms, which are decorated with soft white furnishings and Brazilian wood furniture. Little injections of colour are given through colourful rugs, Bahian artwork and hand painted cushions. The two-story Villa VIP with its own private Jacuzzi and a wide balcony looking over the garden, is ideal for honeymooners.

For us, a key selling point of this hotel is the beach area, which, is beautifully secluded thanks to a decked walkway leading through the mangroves from the hotel and the surrounding palm trees. Comfortable lounge chairs and hammocks are laid out for guests to use the services of the hotel’s beach bar, while those who are feeling more active can also try out the beachside fitness centre.
