A well-appointed alpine style hosteria in San Martin de Los Andes for clients who want the basics of a decent lodge with a polished look and a few facilities at a budget price. This is perhaps as far off as you’ll get from your typical boutique look property. For clients that are more focussed on facilities and location will be very happy and we particularly recommend the Monteverde to families due to the ample rooms.

Location

On one of the many residential streets just a few blocks from the liveliest part of town, Hosteria Monteverde is a little bit hard to categorise as it feels more like a budget hotel with a couple of extras thrown in, rather than the typical picturesque country lodge in town.

Rooms

If style and décor are not very important requirements, Hosteria Monteverde may be a good choice given the ample size of its rooms and well appointed bathrooms with hydro massage tubs in superior rooms. Rooms are functional and fairly bland in décor (there is a lot of beige throughout) but won’t disappoint for cleanliness, layout and amenities.

Layout

All rooms are spread over two floors and there is also a lift. The large sitting area features a large fireplace, and there is a small rustic wooden bar in the main dining area where breakfast is served. There is a pool in the back garden, which is limited in size and also a large barbecue room where asados (grilled barbeques) can be arranged for groups of guests.

Features

The main thing to point out about this property is that it offers good value for money for those who are not fussed by style or atmosphere. There are alternative lodges that we like far more in the area as we tend to favour boutique style accommodation. We also think that despite all the facilities that the property boasts compared to others we like, this hotel lacks a sparkle and so doesn’t score too highly for us in looks or service.
