Modern and stylish, the Design Suites Salta is located right in the heart of town and is a popular choice for those that are after something intimate, funky and modern. Like its sister properties in Buenos Aires and Bariloche, they have really paid attention to the details and each of the rooms is superbly well laid out and makes the most of the surrounding cityscape to give them an edgy and urban feel. Definitely one of the top 5 hotels in the city.

Set in a modern looking building just off the Plaza Belgrano and a mere 5 minute walk to the central Plaza, the Design Suites Salta is a triumph of design and oozes a contemporary flair.

As you move through the building you are aware of the clever use of materials and fabrics they have used in order to create contrast and depth wherever you look. The main entrance to the building has an urban, industrial feel to it with heavy concrete pillars punctuating the main hall and the smart wine bar area. From this you are then moved into the stark white of the gallery and restaurant area, which is softened with the natural wood of the floors and panelling. Finally you then move to the contemporary and lush bedrooms with their floor to ceiling windows and natural fabrics.

There are a couple of areas that have accommodation, in the older part of the building there are a few traditional rooms, with wooden floors and simple, white decoration. These are rooms that would suit someone looking to experience a little of the history of the building. For us, however, there are only the rooms in the new section. These are fabulously thought out rooms that make you almost feel like you could get blown away as they are so open and airy.
