Beaches, deserts, lakes
This superb little itinerary takes in the full range that Chile can offer
One of the great things about a country such as Chile is that, within the space of a couple of hours, it is possible to combine a whole wealth of different experiences. In this great value itinerary, you will be taken from the vibrant capital, to the sleepy and quirky coastal towns of Valparaiso and Zapallar. From the Pacific Ocean you will then go up to one of the driest places on the planet - the Atacama Desert - for a few nights. Finally, to round things off, you will head down to the stunning Chilean Lake District for a few nights. This is an itinerary we have recommended many times and it never disappoints!

Met on arrival and transferred to the Torremayor Hotel to stay for 4 nights on a B&B basis. Located in the pretty Providencia district of Santiago, the hotel is within walking distance of cafés and restaurants and is just a short hop on the metro from the historic centre and Lastarria.
Valparaiso
Met and transferred to Valparaiso to stay in the Zero Hotel for the night on a B&B basis (there is the option to have lunch on the way here in one of the vineyards of the Casablanca wine valley or, alternatively, you can look at visiting the Maipu wine valley as a day trip from Santiago).
Zapallar, Pacific Coast
Met and transferred to the Isla Seca Hotel in the quaint fishing village of Zapallar to stay for 3 nights on a B&B basis. Just a two hour drive from Santiago, the hotel offers sea views and is a short walk from the beach, making it an ideal place to relax for a couple of nights at the beginning or end of the trip.
