To the End of the World and Back
An all encompassing itinerary to Chile and Argentina
As one of the longest itineraries that we feature, this itinerary takes you on a journey starting in subtropical Iguazu to the Southern tip of the South American continent via Patagonia and Cape Horn and back up north to the Atacama Desert. You could not experience more diverse climates and landscapes in one trip alone!
Fly to Rio
Fly overnight to the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro arriving the following morning.
Iguacu Falls
Connect in Rio onto the flight down to Foz do Iguacu and transferred through to the Argentine side of the border to stay in the Loi Suites for 2 nights on a B&B basis. Met by your private guide who will take you to visit the Argentine side of the falls for a full day to explore, including park fees. You will also be taken to the Brazilian side of the falls for a morning visit on day 3.
Buenos Aires
Transferred to Puerto Iguazu Airport in time for the flight down to Buenos Aires. Met on arrival and transferred to the Algodon Mansion in Buenos Aires's upmarket district of Recoleta to stay for 4 nights on a B&B basis. Your stay includes a half day city tour on Day 5.
El Calafate
Met and transferred to the airport for your flight down to El Calafate. Met and transferred to Eolo to stay for 3 nights on a full board basis including activities like trekking, mountain biking and birdwatching within the hotel's grounds. You will also have a full day’s excursion to the Perito Moreno glacier on the with a private guide.
Ushuaia
Met and transferred to the airport to fly to Ushuaia. Met on arrival and transferred to Los Cauquenes to stay for the night on a B&B basis. During the afternoon you will be met by your private guide and taken out to the Tierra del Fuego National Park to have a look around and for a couple of hours of leisurely walking through the Park.
Cruise
Met and transferred to the port to check in for the Stella Australis cruise to then spend the next 3 nights on the boat on route to Punta Arenas.
This is a true voyage into the unknown and is to experience Cape Horn in all its glory. The cruise itinerary will allow you to visit the very end of the world and see where seafarers have dreaded to sail for centuries...but in style!
Santiago
Met in Punta Arenas off the Stella Australis and transferred to the airport in time for the flight up to Santiago. Met on arrival and transferred to the Lastarria Boutique Hotel to stay for the night on a B&B basis. This is one of Santiago's buzziest neighbourhoods with quirky cafés, restaurants and museums to explore. Bordered by Cerro Santa Lucía and Parque Forestal it's within walking distance of most of the main sites and a great base for a couple of nights' stay.
Valparaiso
Met in the morning by your private guide and drive through to Casa del Bosque Vineyard for a vineyard tour and lunch in the restaurant. Afterwards, drive through to Valparaiso to stay at Casa Higueras for the night on a B&B basis.
The city of Valparaiso is arguably one of Chile's most interesting and quirky destinations with the steep hills and colourful structures providing plenty to consider while sipping a Chilean wine in one of the city's plentiful restaurants.
Calama
Transferred back to Santiago Airport for the flight up to Calama. Met on arrival and transferred to the Awasi to stay for 3 nights on an all inclusive basis including all activities on a private basis.
The small town of San Pedro de Atacama is still a dusty entry point to this barren stretch of land, in the lew of the Andes range. Today this region is a mecca for many that want to be active on their holidays and, as such, during your 3 night stay you can opt to do everything or nothing!
Return home
Transferred back to Calama Airport in time for flight back down to Santiago. Met and transferred back to the Lastarria Boutique Hotel to stay for the night on a B&B basis for your last night in Chile before heading home.
