The Best of Argentina
Superb itinerary to all the big draws
We stumbled across this itinerary a few years ago and have been merrily recommending it to clients ever since! The main issue with travel in Argentina is that it can be quite expensive to get around. If you don't fly, however, it then takes forever. This itinerary really negates these problems and allows you to see a whole host of the main sights of Argentina...and in just about the right amount of time...and just look at the price!
Make your way to Buenos Aires
Fly to Buenos Aires international airport and met on arrival.
Buenos Aires
Met on arrival into Buenos Aires and transferred to the Mine Hotel to stay for the next 3 nights on a B&B basis. (Standard Double Room) This exotic city is one of sights and sounds, romance and dining. A few nights in the capital is certainly only a starter... so much so that many stay for good! Recommended are a night of Tango and visiting a few of the cities excellent sites.
El Calafate and Patagonia
Met in the morning and transferred to Aeroparque Jorge Newbery in time for the 1430 flight down to El Calafate arriving 1750. Met on arrival and transferred to the Hosteria Los Notros to stay for 3 nights on a B&B basis. (Standard Double Room) The sweeping plains that surround this small town are typical of the Patagonian Steppe and inspire both awe and a fantastic sense of space. Without doubt a highlight of your stay will be visiting the famous Perito Moreno Glacier just outside of town.
Bariloche and the Lake District
Transferred back to the airport for the flight up to Bariloche. Collect your hire car and drive into town to stay in the Peninsula Petit for 4 nights on a B&B basis. (Superior Double Room) Bariloche and the region to the north are some of the most beautiful and lush in the whole of South America. Having just come from Patagonia, it will feel like you have found an oasis! With plenty to do and see in the area, it is great to have the freedom to drive yourself, and really explore.
The Iguazu Falls
Drop your car off at the airport in time for the flight from Bariloche via Buenos Aires to Iguazu. Met on arrival and transferred to the La Cantera Hotel to stay for 3 nights. (Standard Double Room)(This includes two trips; one is the full day out to the Argentinean side of the falls, and the other is a half day to the Brazilian side. Both are on a seat in bus basis) Well, what is there to be said about Iguazu? Regularly in the top ten natural wonders to see in a lifetime, a few days here really rounds your trip off in style.
Fly home
Met and transferred back to the airport for the flight back to Buenos Aires and connect onto your international flights home.
Please note the cost of this itinerary does not include international flights and is on a B&B basis, unless otherwise indicated.
