A brief glimpse of what Argentina and Chile have to offer
A chic and interesting trip, sampling two of South America's most renowned cities and wine regions, as well as some of its most beautiful districts, this trip is a fantastic way to get a real overview of how the topography of this entire area of the world has given rise to its diversity of lands and areas. The debate as to which is the best city in South America still goes on, but both Santiago and Buenos Aires offer something different to visitors. This itinerary also takes in the fabulous wine region around Santiago as well as the quirky town of Valparaiso on the Pacific coast.
Make your way to Santiago
Fly to Santiago international airport and met on arrival.
Santiago
Met on arrival and transferred to to the W Hotel right in the heart of Santiago to stay for 4 nights on a B&B basis. The W Hotel is definitely the place to see and be seen while in town, featuring such facilities as an open sides restaurant that looks out across the city, a rooftop pool, and one of the most exclusive night clubs in the city, you can spend days just exploring what it has to offer. During the 4 nights you are here it is recommended to spend at least a day out in the Maipu Wine Valley and also head out to the fantastic town of Valparaiso with its quirky graffiti and colourful houses.
Chilean Lake District
Transferred in the morning to the airport in time for the flight down to Puerto Montt. Met on arrival and driven through to the Hotel Cumbres Patagonicas just outside Puerto Varas, right in the heart of the Chilean lake district, to spend the night on a B&B basis. This stunning region of lakes and volcanoes is one of the most beautiful in all of South America, where virgin woodland runs down to the shores of the many freshwater lakes of the district.
Bariloche and the Argentine Lake District
Met and transferred to the lake for a full day of traveling across the lake and over the Andes to the Argentine side of the lake district. This wonderful journey takes you through picturesque lakes and towering peaks in what is one of the best journeys on the planet. On arrival into Argentina you make your way to the Llao Llao peninsula and the famous hotel of the same name. Here you will stay for the next 3 nights exploring this beautiful region that offers walking, skiing and plenty more besides. - includes a full day of trekking
Mendoza and the winelands
Transferred to the airport for the flight up to Mendoza and the Argentinean wine district. Met on arrival and transferred through to the famous Uco Valley, the very heart and pinnacle of South American wine production. The Posada Salentein is an idyllic hotel that is part of the Salentein winery and sits in amongst the vines themselves. With a whole host of restaurants and vineyards in the area, it is a great place to locate to for a few days of wine and food.
Buenos Aires
Transferred in the morning back to the airport for the short flight back to Buenos Aires. Met and transferred to the Legado Mitico Hotel to stay for the night on a B&B basis. You will have the afternoon to relax in the hotel, catch up on any last minute shopping or eat that last steak before your flight home the following day!
Head home
Met and transferred to the International Airport to connect onto your international flights home.
